ILCA High Load Downhaul Secondary System

Designed for sailors looking to upgrade or replace part of their downhaul system, our ILCA High Load Downhaul Secondary System is built around Allen's proven 30mm High Load Block and supplied ready to install.

Each system includes a pre-spliced Dyneema® strop and secondary control line, both cut and spliced to the optimum lengths for a neat, reliable, and high-performance setup. Installation is quick and straightforward: simply loop the Dyneema strop around the mast, pass the secondary line through the eye splice, then feed the entire line and block through the loop. Pull tight to create a secure luggage-tag attachment around the mast.

At the heart of the system is the Allen 30mm High Load Tii-On Block fitted with a stainless steel sheave. Unlike standard plastic sheaves, the stainless steel sheave significantly reduces friction under high loads, allowing the downhaul system to run more smoothly and making adjustments easier, particularly when sailing in stronger winds. Although the stainless steel sheave adds a small amount of weight, the improved efficiency and control make it the preferred choice for performance-focused sailors and racers.

The system is available with a choice of premium Robline secondary control lines. For sailors seeking maximum durability, reduced stretch, and enhanced handling characteristics, we recommend upgrading to Robline Polytech for the ultimate high-performance setup.
